During the meeting, the delegates exchanged many opinions affirming the specific goals, progress and products of the Project, and assigned responsible contacts to ensure smooth and effective coordination. The two sides committed to completing a number of important products to welcome the visit and work of Mr. Nick Clegg - Chairman of International Communications of Meta (he was the former Deputy Prime Minister of the UK) scheduled for October 2, 2024 at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The project to improve AI application capacity for lecturers and students aims to improve the understanding and ability to apply artificial intelligence in teaching, learning and daily life of lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU; with 3 specific goals:
- Help lecturers and students gain a deep understanding of the role and impact of AI in social life and in higher education.
- Equip lecturers and students with knowledge and skills to evaluate, select and use AI tools that suit their needs; help them use AI in accordance with ethics, law and critical thinking.
- Develop a toolkit of competency frameworks, assessment tools and learning materials to serve the development of digital competencies for lecturers and students inside and outside VNU.
Associate Professor Do Van Hung (Head of the Faculty of Information and Library) added: The project will be implemented for nearly 2 years (from June 2024 to December 2025). Based on a survey of the needs and actual capacity of lecturers and students in applying AI in teaching activities, the project will develop content and implement AI training courses for lecturers and students; develop and publish a set of learning materials on the digital competency framework and assessment tools for digital competencies.
