“Youth Innovation on Mekong Basin Development and Governance” (YICMG) is a competition for university students from 6 countries in the Mekong Basin: China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam. The purpose of the competition is to strengthen environmental and economic cooperation among the countries around the Mekong River Basin, enhance global visions, and promote the creativity and governance capacity of the youth of these countries. Participating students develop projects to protect and promote this area, in which there are plenty of unique cultural features. The best projects from different countries are selected for the Final Round.

had 75 students registering with 25 projects, of which 12 were selected for competition. In the final round, students of the University won 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will tentatively hold the 6th YICMG. The University will coordinate with other organizers to promote and spread the spirit and values of the program to its students.
