11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis
1) New features and in-depth linguistic contributions of the thesis:
Researching the ability to pronounce different types of Vietnamese syllables of the surveyed hearing-impaired children is a new task that has never been done by any researcher or author before. These types of syllables characterize Vietnamese syllables, to distinguish them from syllables of other languages in the world.
Measuring basic acoustic parameters of tones and drawing graphs showing pitch and duration of tones in Vietnamese syllables, in 20/81 children of pre-school age (including hearing-impaired children) and normal hearing children), is a new work that has never been done by any previous researcher or author.
Comparing Vietnamese pronunciation characteristics between hearing-impaired children with cochlear implants and normal hearing children: This comparison did show the similarities and differences between the Vietnamese pronunciation ability of the children sampled standard (normal hearing children) and of hearing-impaired children with hearing aids, at the same pre-school/preschool age.
The thesis was a survey and research on phonology in the spoken language of Vietnamese children speaking Vietnamese (specifically Hanoi accent), based on subjects with normal hearing (8 children) and hearing-impaired children with cochlear implants (children with hearing disabilities) (73 children).
Proposals and recommendations of the thesis: The thesis did propose directions for support from the perspective of Linguistics in general and the perspective of Phonetics & Phonology of Vietnamese in particular. The purpose is to improve pronunciation ability in general and correct pronunciation errors in particular for the surveyed hearing-impaired children.
2) New features and in-depth contributions in terms of Audiology and Special Education of the thesis: The results of the thesis did show the important prerequisite role of early detection of hearing impairement and implantation of electrodes cochlea on the Vietnamese pronunciation ability of hearing-impaired children was surveyed. The results of the thesis did show the very important role of auditory verbal therapy in the Vietnamese pronunciation ability of the hearing-impaired children studied. In addition, the thesis did contribute to supplementing the content of language education in special educational establishments for hearing-impaired children in Hanoi. From there, there are specific contributions to the special education program in general in Vietnam.
12. Practical applicability (if any)
The survey results of the thesis can be used as a reference for auditory verbal therapy for hearing-impaired children to use in early intervention (improving pronunciation and correcting Vietnamese pronunciation errors) for hearing-impaired children.
The section "Proposed directions to support improving and correcting Vietnamese pronunciation errors for hearing-impaired children" in the thesis can be used as a reference for families and caregivers of hearing-impaired children to use for auditory verbal therapy for hearing-impaired children at home.

1) Research on Vietnamese pronunciation characteristics of Vietnamese of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children (in North, Central and South of Vietnam).
2) Research the Vietnamese phonological awareness ability of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children.
3) Research the ability to listen and understand Vietnamese of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children.
4) Research on Vietnamese speech characteristics of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children.
5) Research the Vietnamese verbal expression ability of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children.
6) Research the characteristics of Vietnamese verbal communication of Vietnamese hearing-impaired children.
