On December 17, 2020, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in collaboration with the Korea Research Association in Southeast Asia (KoSASA), Korea Research Institute (AKS) organized the 9th Korean Studies Conference with the theme "The Future of Korean Studies in Southeast Asia: Globalization and Localization". The seminar brought together more than 40 senior managers and scholars, lecturers from various fields of Korea, country studies, linguistics, politics and economics from Korean training and research schools. Speaking at the opening session of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector in charge of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU) emphasized that Korean studies have been receiving strong attention. Along with the development of Vietnam-Korea bilateral relations, Korean studies in Vietnam have achieved many remarkable achievements. In addition to the original pure research and training institutions, many units, including units of foreign language universities are also tending to expand into research and training in Korea. learn.

On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, Mr. Park Noh Wan (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary) said that the seminar took place in the context that the two countries are about to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in the year. 2022.
