The meeting revolved around the plan to co-implement the "European Project on Historical Studies and Digitalizing Vietnamese Social Sciences documents" (abbreviated Vietnamica). It is one of the projects sponsored by the European Research Council (European Union) aimed at studying the history, collecting and digitalizing the social sciences documents related to Vietnam. The project gives especial priority to the Sino-Nom inscriptions, especially those documenting the ascension of royal individuals at places of worship and villages. In other words, the project focuses on "bia hậu", a kind of commemorative stele existing in the period of 15th-20th century in Vietnam.

The project will be carried out in 5 years through field trips, specialized and focused workshops and seminars, and professional trips to Europe or Vietnam for the member researchers to study texts at archives centers or to teach and participate in seminars.

The project aims at the objectives: assemble individual findings of its member researchers in a collection about the history of royal ascension in Vietnam; create a digitalized database of texts and books for researching and referencing; and hold an international conference to summarize all the research findings, documents and graphics gathered in 5 years.
