The conference was organized with support from the Korean Foundation, Korean Studies Institute and the Center for Korean Studies (University of New South Wales, Australia). The conference focused on these issues: educational reform and international cooperation between Southeast Asia with South Korea in the Asian era; sharing visions on Korean Studies teaching in Southeast Asia; Korean language training in the era of internationalization of higher education; Korean language teaching and comparative studies between Southeast Asia and Korea in the context of globalization in Asia, and the innovation of higher education and Korean studies etc.
An accompanying event of this conference was the signing of memorandum of cooperation between University of New South Wales (Australia) and members of the Korean Studies Association in Southeast Asia, including game đánh chắn online đổi thưởng to start cooperation in many activities such as student, lecturer and academic exchanges.

Accordingly, the Korean Studies Institute (University of New South Wales) will provide annual scholarships for 02 research fellows, who are staff and students at the universities that will study at University of New South Wales starting in 2015. In addition, the Korean Studies Institute (University of New South Wales) also signed a memorandum on comparative studies of public policies to further promote public policy studies in Southeast Asian countries and South Korea. Thus the 6th conference on Korean studies was successfully co-organized by KoSASA and the University of Malaya. The 7th conference will be held at University of the Philippines (Philippines).
