Master's candidate Dang Thu Hoa presented her paper “Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue: from historical character to literary icon”. The paper studied the process in which the historical character Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue became a symbol of national hero, by clarifying the elements that incluenced and shaped the different assessments and acknowledgements of Nguyen Hue in Vietnam's literary system. The paper is expected to contribute to the decoding of Vietnam's spirit worship and the interpretation of "historical facts" in fictional works.
Master's candidate Tran Linh Trang (Faculty of Philosophy)
Master's candidate Tran Linh Trang delivered her work "The practice of the rule of law of the Republic of France: its content and reference value for the construction of the Vietnamese socialist rule-of-law- state. The paper aimed to clarify the rationale and ideological foundation of the organization and operation of the state rule of law of the Republic of France, analyze the status of the state apparatus of the French Republic, make comparisons with Vietnam, and show the values and lessons in the process of building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law state in Vietnam in the current period.
The Toshiba Fellowship Program was initiated between VNU Hanoi and Toshiba Corporation in 2005. Over the past 10 years, VNU and Toshiba Scholarship Foundation have held 13 programs and scientific conferences; 230 distinguished master's and doctoral candidates of VNU have been granted a total amount of scholarship worth 20 Japanese yens.
